Hanz de Fuko was founded in 2009 by David Alfonso and Christopher Zent, who started by filling and labeling products in a one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco. After selling their products to high-end salons for two years, the pair of founders decided to take the brand to social media. In six months, the brand became the best-selling grooming brand online. In 2012, to keep up with skyrocketing demand, the founders decided to seek help from the largest all-green solar manufacturing plant in North America. One year later, David Beckham revealed in GQ Magazine that he loved the brand’s products, which became a big breakthrough moment for Hanz de Fuko. Three years later, in 2016, the brand expanded to Europe. Here it was selling in some of the most prestigious retail establishments on earth. After another year, the brand had sold more than a million units of Claymation, and in 2018, their products were selling in more than 40 countries worldwide. In 2019, Heavymade and Scheme Cream received praise in GQ and Esquire Magazine as best new hair styling products of the year.
