Glenn’s Walking Dead Hairstyle: A Soft Side-Swept Cut

Glenn Rhee’s hairstyle, worn by Steven Yeun in The Walking Dead, is a longer, softly swept shape with shorter hair around the ears and neck. The Slikhaar interpretation combines directional styling with a natural-looking surface rather than a rigid, wet finish.

What to ask your barber for

Take the original front and side photographs to your barber. Ask for a longer top that moves across the forehead and back, with softer transitions around the sides. Use the images to explain the shape, then let your barber adapt the lengths to your hair’s density and direction.

Prepare the hair and tools

Keep a reference photo, a suitable comb or brush, a dryer if you use one, and your chosen styling product nearby. Start with hair that is free of heavy buildup. If shampooing, follow with conditioner where your lengths need it and rinse as directed. Blot rather than rub with a towel.

Set the direction before adding the finish

Find the direction the front naturally falls. Dry it across and slightly back, using a brush to lift at the roots without pulling every strand straight. Let a few front sections settle naturally instead of drawing a hard, straight part.

If the finish looks too formal, loosen the surface with your fingers after combing. If the top becomes heavy, reduce the pomade next time. Ask for selective weight removal only where needed; thinning the entire top is not automatically helpful.
