G-Eazy Slick-Back Haircut: Cut, Part and Styling Steps

The G-Eazy-inspired Slikhaar haircut combines a defined side part, closely graduated sides and a longer top swept back. The reference is the original 2016-era tutorial, with current product guidance for recreating its shape and shine.

What to ask your barber for

The documented sides and back graduate from about 9 mm to 2 cm. The fringe is around 10–12 cm, reducing to 7–8 cm through the top. A barber can adapt these lengths to your density and hairline. Discuss whether you want a shaved part or a softer line made with a comb.

Prepare the hair and tools

Keep a reference photo, a suitable comb or brush, a dryer if you use one, and your chosen styling product nearby. Start with hair that is free of heavy buildup. If shampooing, follow with conditioner where your lengths need it and rinse as directed. Blot rather than rub with a towel.

Set the direction before adding the finish

Dry the top backwards, lifting at the roots before settling it into the slick-back direction. Keep the sides neat. If your hair waves, decide whether to keep that movement: a wavy slick back is a valid variation, not a failed version of the style.

Choose the hold and shine

The original tutorial uses Gold Digger for structure and Powermade for shine. The current alternative is a restrained amount of Gold Digger followed by a small amount of Flow Pomade. Flow provides light, flexible control; use less if the top becomes heavy.

Adjust the result to your hair

Do not use a straightener on damp hair. If a very smooth finish requires more heat or effort than you want daily, ask for a shape that works with your wave. Clean buildup out before repeatedly adding more wax.
