Justin Timberlake’s 2015–2016 neat side sweep pairs short sides with a longer top directed across a defined part. This guide covers that historical look. It can be worn smooth or with some natural wave rather than requiring every head of hair to imitate the same texture.
What to ask your barber for
Ask for short, connected sides and enough front length to sweep across without springing upright. Decide whether you want the softer original outline or a more strongly disconnected undercut. Show the side and front views so your barber can adjust the proportions.
Prepare the hair and tools
Keep a reference photo, a suitable comb or brush, a dryer if you use one, and your chosen styling product nearby. Start with hair that is free of heavy buildup. If shampooing, follow with conditioner where your lengths need it and rinse as directed. Blot rather than rub with a towel.
Set the direction before adding the finish
Find the natural part and dry the longer top across it. Lift the front slightly, then direct the ends across and back. Keep the sides close to the head so the top has a clean outline.
Choose the hold and shine
Use Flow Pomade for light control and natural shine, or a matte finisher for a drier version. Work a small amount through the lengths, then comb once to refine the direction. Add product gradually if needed.
Adjust the result to your hair
Strong curls may not become a straight side sweep through combing alone. Keep a textured variation if you prefer a simpler routine. A pompadour adds more front height, while a slick back removes most of the sideways direction.
