Product update: By Vilain Powermade has been improved and reformulated as By Vilain Flow Pomade. The original images have been retained and may show the former Powermade product.
The original Slikhaar demonstration styles Emil’s haircut three ways: a pompadour, a twisted quiff and a loose Kenickie-inspired curl. Changing direction, surface texture and shine creates variety without changing the underlying cut. The front needs enough length to form the shapes.

The haircut used in the demonstration
The source records approximately 12–13 cm at the fringe, reducing to 6–7 cm towards the top centre. The sides and back graduate from around 1 to 3 cm. These are Emil’s tutorial measurements, not a requirement for everyone. A shorter front can produce smaller versions of the styles.

1. Pompadour: height and backward direction
Begin with manageable hair and apply a suitable pre-styler as directed. Lift the front at the roots with a brush while drying, then guide the ends back. Keep the sides controlled. Spread a small amount of Gold Digger through dry hair and refine the shape with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.

2. Twisted quiff: a defined front section
Reset the front direction if it still follows the previous style. Build a raised front, then use a small amount of Silver Fox for hold and a shinier finish. Gently turn one front section with your fingers to create the twist. Release it and assess the result before tightening it again.

3. Kenickie-inspired curl: looser separation
The third version loosens the previous shape into a curl across the front. Lightly reshape individual sections rather than scrubbing through the entire top. Add only a small amount of Flow Pomade if you want more shine and flexibility. It is a finishing adjustment, not an instruction to layer a large amount over existing wax.

Which version should you choose?
Choose the pompadour for a fuller swept-back outline, the quiff for a more deliberate front detail, and the curl for looser movement. If one version needs constant correction, check whether the length or natural wave supports it. A style that works with your hair will be easier to repeat.

How to switch without overloading the hair
Try the shapes on separate days at first so you can judge the product amounts. A little moisture may help some products rework, but follow their directions and reset with cleansing when the hair feels coated. More layers are not always more control.
