Thomas Shelby’s Peaky Blinders haircut combines very short sides with a longer, textured top and a forward or side-swept fringe. To recreate the screen-inspired shape, decide first whether you want the stark disconnection or a softer, blended adaptation.
What to ask your barber for
Ask for a textured crop with a clear contrast between the top and sides. Show the specific scene or photo you like, because the haircut changes across the series. Discuss the fringe length and how much scalp exposure you are comfortable with; no single clipper guard reproduces it for everyone.
Prepare the hair and tools
Keep a reference photo, a suitable comb or brush, a dryer if you use one, and your chosen styling product nearby. Start with hair that is free of heavy buildup. If shampooing, follow with conditioner where your lengths need it and rinse as directed. Blot rather than rub with a towel.
Set the direction before adding the finish
Dry the top forwards and slightly to one side. Keep the front low rather than lifting it into a quiff. Use your fingers to separate the texture without drawing a hard part.
Choose the hold and shine
A small amount of matte clay or wax supports the dry, textured finish. Flow Pomade gives a shinier, softer variation and should not be described as a matte product. Choose the finish deliberately rather than assuming all pomades produce the same result.
Adjust the result to your hair
Very close sides make regrowth noticeable. A softer taper is an option if you want longer gaps between appointments. If the fringe sticks up, your barber may need to retain more length or adjust it around a cowlick.
